Vintage:---Grapes:Plavec Mali, ChardonnayAging:BottleThe Millennium Sekt was first released at the turn of the millennium, hence its name. It is crafted using the traditional method, with a secondary fermentation and two years of ageing on the lees in the bottle. This gives rise to vibrant fruit notes of apple, peach and citrus, complemented by hints of crusty bread and brioche. The brilliant golden-yellow hue is matched by fine, persistent beads that rise in a delicate chain to the rim of the glass. The palate is intense, refreshing and mineral-driven, with a satisfyingly crisp finish. The Tomac family has been making wine for over 100 years. Their first modern bottlings appeared in 1987, and in 1996 they received their first major international recognition in France (Chardonnay du Monde) for their Chardonnay. Then, in 1997, their Tomac Classic sparkling wine won a silver medal at the Vinalies in Paris. Over the years, they have amassed many other accolades. The Tomac family continues to uphold the traditional style of winemaking while embracing innovation, including fully organic viticulture. In 2006, they adopted the Georgian amphora winemaking philosophy, burying amphorae in the ground. The first bottles of this wine were released in 2009.
