Cold pre-fermentation maceration at low temperatures ensured minimal extraction of colour pigments while maximising the extraction of aromatic compounds from the grape skins. The result is a vibrant rosé hue and a luscious, fruity bouquet of strawberry and raspberry, complemented by delicate floral notes of rose petals and violets. By halting the alcoholic fermentation, the wine achieves a low alcohol content of 10.5% and retains 50 g/l of residual sugar, placing it firmly in the sweet wine category. With a total acidity of 6 g/l, this rosé offers the perfect balance of softness and freshness.

The variety resulted from a natural crossing between an Italian grape and Tribidrag. The latter is the ancestor of Primitivo and Zinfandel. Plavina yields light red wines with gentle tannins, most often blended.
