Vintage: 2024 Grape variety: Chardonnay 100% Ageing: Stainless steel tank Origin: Porcia, Friuli Alcohol content: 13% Closure: Natural cork Volume: 0.75l The San Simone Chardonnay Friuli DOC Grave is a characterful white wine from the renowned Friuli region in Italy. The San Simone estate, located in Porcia, is run by the Brisotto family, known for their sustainable management of 65 hectares of vineyards. This wine is made entirely from Chardonnay grapes. The vineyards are situated in the DOC Friuli Grave area, known for its alluvial soils rich in sand and limestone, which give the wine its distinctive minerality. The grapes are carefully hand-picked and gently pressed. Fermentation takes place at controlled temperatures in stainless steel tanks to preserve the wine’s freshness and fruitiness. The wine then matures on the fine lees, adding complexity and structure. In the glass, the Chardonnay displays a pale straw-yellow hue. The bouquet is intense yet delicate, with rich notes of tropical fruit, particularly pineapple, alongside hints of golden apple, melon, white peach, and acacia honey. On the palate, it is elegant and refined, with a subtle touch of bread crust. The lively acidity enhances the wine’s freshness, while the finish is long-lasting and mineral-driven.

Vintage: 2022/23 Grape variety: Friulano 100% Aging: Stainless steel Origin: Porcia, Friuli Alcohol content: 13% Closure: Natural cork Volume: 0.75l Once known as Tocai, Friulano was the most popular and widely spread white wine of its time, often shared among friends in convivial gatherings. This wine boasts an intense, floral aroma, with a soft yet refreshing palate enriched by mineral, spicy and citrus notes. It pairs beautifully with cured meats, particularly San Daniele prosciutto, as well as pumpkin cream and robust fish dishes. Friulano is undoubtedly the flagship white of Friuli. This refined Friulano DOC wine from our region has been reimagined to highlight its timeless elegance and finesse. Even when it was still called Tocai, this grape variety produced the quintessential white wine—beloved and widely enjoyed. Much of its distinctive character stems from the unique terroir where it grows: an alluvial soil rich in limestone and sand, with muddy-clay deposits. When the Friulano DOC greets the nose with a sense of natural lightness, reminiscent of wildflowers with hints of anise and fig, its full potential unfolds on the palate. Soft and rounded, it balances a lively acidity that concludes with a subtle almond finish. It pairs well with seafood and vegetable starters, but truly shines alongside San Daniele crudo—a further refinement of our region’s culinary excellence.
