Valle is a blend of Malvazija Istarska and Sauvignon Blanc, where the former lends body and texture while the latter provides freshness, vibrancy and aromatic complexity. The 2023 Valle opens with a pale lemon-yellow hue. The nose is youthful and expressive, revealing classic grassy and fruity notes alongside elderflower, gooseberry, peach, grapefruit and tomato leaf—all delivered with a refreshing lift. On the palate, it is bone-dry, medium-bodied and brimming with freshness and energy. The flavour profile is quite intense, with a subtle saline minerality in the background. Its clean, zesty finish cleanses the palate and leaves you eager for another sip or bite.
Made from 80% hand-harvested Malvazija Istarska and 20% Sauvignon Blanc. The grapes are sourced from the Valle vineyard in western Istria, where 33-year-old vines grow at 200 metres above sea level, facing south-southwest to soak up plenty of sunshine. The vineyard’s soils are a mix of flysch, limestone and clay.
The wine ages for 5 months in stainless steel tanks and has an alcohol level of 12.5%.
Best served at: 10–12°C
Food pairing: A perfect aperitif and summer sipper, Valle pairs beautifully with salads, vegetable dishes, asparagus risotto and all manner of cold plates—including seafood. It’s also an excellent choice for a glass of wine in a bar or restaurant.
