The indigenous Pošip grape variety is a true gem and the white variety with the highest potential. As a variety, it lends itself to producing fresh wines, distinguished by aromas, minerality and notes that only improve with bottle ageing. The grapes for this wine come from the Grabica winery.
In the cellar, the grapes are additionally hand-sorted on the sorting table. Pošip is a delicate variety and requires great care. Fermentation takes place mainly in stainless steel tanks, where the temperature is precisely controlled. After fermentation, the Pošip is left on its lees for 6 months in stainless steel tanks with regular stirring. Around 20% is fermented in oak barrels, which also control the temperature. This portion remains in barrique barrels for 6 months and then rests on its own lees.
A creamy, full-bodied wine with a rich and complex bouquet. The nose is dominated by tropical fruit aromas, particularly pineapple, with smaller but evenly distributed notes of peach, Mediterranean herbs and vanilla. On the palate, it feels more restrained than on the nose. Exquisitely balanced and lively acidity emerges mid-palate, creating a beautiful harmony expressed with a certain delicacy. The finish reveals power and maturity, thanks to the pleasant warmth and finesse. The aftertaste is long-lasting, with a hint of squash. With its aromas and bouquet, this wine has an exceptionally strong culinary character. 91 points. (Saša Špiranec)
Pairs beautifully with spicy fish dishes and fine meats such as veal or marinated poultry.
