Vugava is considered an indigenous grape variety of Vis Island, though some theories link it to Brač. Vugava from Brač differs significantly from its counterparts on Vis.
Made from grapes grown in vineyards on the Dalmatian island of Vis, Vugava is an indigenous variety with great potential. Modern viticulture and oenological methods are only now beginning to unlock its full potential and possibilities.
This Vugava offers a delicate, subtle aroma, characteristic freshness, and a balance that becomes even more pronounced with ageing. The grapes are sourced from old vineyards in the interior of Vis Island. All vineyard work is carried out by hand, and harvesting takes place in the early morning to preserve the grapes’ freshness and flavour.
