Pošip is Dalmatia’s most important white grape variety. Rich in fruit, freshness and intensity, this native grape delivers wines of remarkable character. It also lends itself beautifully to oak ageing.
The grapes are sourced from both newly planted and traditional vineyards on the island. All vineyard work and harvesting are carried out entirely by hand. The exceptional quality of the fruit is the result of meticulous care and close monitoring of the vines. The grapes are hand-picked in the early morning, then quickly cooled and brought to the cellar to avoid the heat of the day.
Fermentation takes place with 50% in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks and the remaining 50% in barrique and large oak casks (3,300 litres). The wine then ages for 8 months in tank and a further 4 months in bottle.
Pošip Majstor is a complex, delicate and elegant wine. High minerality, peach and apple notes. The wine lingers long on the palate, with powerful aromas. The oak influence remains subtle in the background, while freshness and acidity maintain a perfect balance.
